Hi.
I am looking to start one of the courses in september at the Zenos Bradford academy. A fortnight ago, I went to the open day and then a week later, went for an assessment. I did the assessment, passed it. I was then told that because I am 19, I am not guaranteed a position on the course as I am over 18 and they usually look for school leavers. (16-18) Instead they told me that they have to get some kind of government funding from a funding agency for the 19+ year olds. I enquired about this on the website but I was just wanting to get some replies from past learners etc. I was just wondering, what is the likelihood of me getting a spot? Has anyone applied as an over 18 year old and been told this? Did you end up getting a spot on the course? How long did it take for them reply? Thanks. Luke. |

Hi Luke,
They sometimes accept students older but you will be placed on the back burner, unless there is a free spot they'll fill it with you. The reason being is they make less money I believe.

I am over 18 and currently studying at zenos warrington. The way they work is in june time they will find out how many spots they have to give to over 18's then anyone that is on their list they will look at to take on. it might be different for different academys but thats warrington.

i'm loving it i must admit, easy to have a laugh with the trainers and people your learning with.
I am finding it pretty easy just listen to what the trainer tells you, he gives you the information you need and you get all the study material you need. I personally liked using [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] easy to digest videos. Today people have been doing CompTIA a+ 701 which I passed with a score of 848/900 best in the academy. Just by listening, taking in the important points and if you don't understand a term, look it up. In all I definetly recommend going, will have to see what happens when it comes to getting a job, so far I can't complain. just give me a shout if you want any info or tips
