My intake were told we had to pass the functional skills in order to get our IT qualifications, luckily for me i can do maths quite well but for others who's maths or English wasn't so good this was a bummer. Eventually Zenos gave in and said those who struggle can do the Key Skills instead as they are much easier. But they were still told they had to pass them to get their IT qualifications.
